Hello everyone!

I know many of you have been very anxiously awaiting more details about Junkie fest 2020.  Since this year's event is at the same venue as 2019, I had hoped that planning would come together much more quickly and easily. But this has been a very crazy winter with a myriad of family things out of my control (both good and bad) that have definitely slowed my planning and communication progress.  I'm sorry.  I very truly appreciate your patience and all the Junkie fest "veterans" who have stepped in to answer questions when I wasn't available.

I have just a few more tiny details to work out in the next few weeks, but I'm ready to give you more final details about this event.

Please note:  there may be slight adjustments to the following information.  The event is still some months away, and I'm bound to find something to share in another installment of my "Corrections" series. LOL

The Junkie fest 2020 venue is located in a western suburb of Minneapolis, approximately 30 minutes northwest of the MSP airport. This full-service conference center hotel is set in a beautiful park-like setting, with outdoor activity areas, a state-of-the-art fitness and spa area with pool and sports courts, and ample free parking.

This year's Junkie fest event features classes, Make and Takes, card-making challenges, and lots of social time to relax while you get to know fellow crafters and craft industry leaders. This is truly an event where you will find those who share the joy of crafting and sharing with others.  There are many amazing people and companies that are supporting this event with their time, talents and amazing products.

There are eight different class package options to choose from at registration. Each class package includes 4 hours of class instruction per day, per attendee, for a total of 12 hours. You will have an opportunity to purchase additional classes outside of your block for an added fee of $50 per class; seats, however, are limited.  All classes are scheduled in two-hour blocks and run concurrently in 4  rooms, from 8a to 6p on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The $700 event fee includes your 12-hour class package, 8 buffet meals, (Wednesday evening, breakfast and lunch all three days, and Saturday evening's closing dinner), make and takes, social crafting time, the opportunity to win amazing prizes, learn from talented teachers and from each other, and create long-lasting friendships with crafty people from around the globe. The event fee does not include transportation or lodging.

Your Junkie fest weekend begins on Wednesday evening, July 22nd, with check-in and social time from 5p-6:45p in the hotel lobby. At that time, you will receive your event swag bag and folder that contains your weekend schedule and your class tickets. A light meal will be provided as well, and a cash bar will be open during this social meet-and-greet time. The Official Welcome and program will begin at 7:10pm in the general session room. Teachers and special guests will be introduced, event information, weekend schedules and questions will be addressed, and some other miscellaneous fun will be had. The welcome night festivities are expected to conclude by 9p.

A Breakfast Buffet is included in your event package and is served from 7-8:30a each morning (Thursday - Saturday) in the event foyer area. Classes begin promptly at 8:00a. When you are not in class, the challenge room will be available for you to use to craft socially with friends. Or you can go to the Make and Take room to create a special project and visit with talented guests.

Buffet-style lunches will be available each day (Thursday through Saturday) and are included in your event package. You may enjoy lunch at your leisure anytime from 12p -1:30p in the hotel restaurant.
Afternoon classes begin promptly at 1:30p.

The last class each day concludes at 6:00p. Evening meals on Thursday and Friday are not included with your event package, but the hotel restaurant and bar offers an extensive menu as well as some quick grab-and-go options.  There are also restaurants near the venue with  dine-in, take-out and delivery options.

Hosted Make and Take sessions will be offered during the day, Thursday,  Friday and Saturday.  Additionally, a Craft Mall will be set up in the general session room on Thursday and Friday evenings from 7p to 10p.  Take this time to support many of our teachers and their companies by shopping their retail booths and purchasing more of their amazing products.  Many of the teachers will also have product demos and/or Make and Takes at their booths too!

Junkie fest 2020 will conclude on Saturday evening with a Closing Banquet.  A social hour with a cash bar begins at 6p and we'll will wrap up the weekend as a group with dinner, a group photo, closing remarks, recognitions, and the final prize giveaways.
